Tour route:
This circular hike follows the popular Geologists’ Trail in the area of the gorge Frötschenbach. The hike begins at the parking lot in Bad Ratzes near Seis (1205 m).
The path (no. 1) initially leads up to the right over the Frötschbach into the forest. After a short time, the path splits: on the right, you’ll walk to the alpine hut Schlernbödele (1693 m), on the left the trail Proßliner Steig (marked 1a) branches off. We choose the Proßliner Steig for the ascent.
The Proßliner Schwaige is located in a charming spot on the Seiser Alm and offers an impressive view of Mount Schlern. The hiking trail continues with marking 1a, leads into a small hollow and joins the tourist trail coming from the Schlern plateau (marking no. 1).
From there we continue in the direction of the lodge Schlernbodenhütte and then walk down to the Frötschbach and back to the starting point at Bad Ratzes (1205 m).
